Jack G. Kilbourne, age 75, of Big Rapids passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Mecosta County Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1933 in Stanwood, Michigan to Charles and Gladys (Jensen) Kilbourne. Jack graduated from Big Rapids High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged after the Korean War. Following the service he worked for Corduroy in Grand Rapids then White Consolidated Industries in Greenville. Jack was a member of the Big Rapids AmVet Post #1941. He was an avid euchre player enjoying his competitors company weekly at the AmVets and Mecosta County Commission on Aging. Jack was a fun loving man who always had a joke to tell and enjoyed card parties, fishing and golfing when he was able. Jack is survived by (5) five children: Cary (Laurie) Kilbourne of Stanwood, Ken (Miranda) Kilbourne of Stanwood, Tim (Mary) Kilbourne of Big Rapids, Shelly (Jeff) Clements of Gowen and Kelly Ferens of Gowen, (5) five brothers and sisters: Janet (Duane) Totten, Ruth (James) Harter, Dale (Brenda) Kilbourne, Larry (Yvonne "Sue" ) Kilbourne and Clifford (Marilyn) Kilbourne, twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and dear friend and caregiver Lois Blakeley. A memorial service for Jack will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Rev. Marianne Jones officiating.
