IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jack
Kerridge
May 31, 1937 – March 1, 2025
It is with deep sadness that the family of Jack Clayton Kerridge announces his passing on March 1, 2025. Born on May 31, 1937, in Levering, Michigan, Jack was 87 years old at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Kerridge, and his children: Jeff Kerridge, Todd Kerridge, Jill Kerridge, Rebecca Bramlett, and stepdaughters Angel Baer and Taressa Sprick. He also leaves behind his siblings Janet Darrow Maurer, Theresa Pietraszewski, and Larry Kerridge. Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcia Kerridge, and his sisters, Shirley Wilson and Norma Peck. He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren: Cody, Kasia, Alexa, Kori, Taryn, Jack, Luca, Ike, Miles, Ella, Brandy, and Tessa; six great grandchildren Baylee, Eli, Ryker, Emily, Mia and Xena; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack graduated as valedictorian from Pellston High School in 1955. He went on to enlist in the Navy, completing his initial training at the Great Lakes Naval Base in Chicago, where he graduated as Honor Man of his company. As part of the Underwater Demolition Team, he traveled the world and gained invaluable experience while working on a battleship.
In 1960, Jack married Marcia Kerridge in Petoskey, Michigan, and the couple spent time touring the country in a camper before settling in Monument, Colorado, where they raised their family. In 1993, Jack married Sandy Kerridge, and together they recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary.
Jack was an electrician by trade and later became the Business Manager for the IBEW Local Union in Colorado Springs, CO. Beyond his work, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying elk and deer hunting, fishing of all kinds, and camping in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and the beautiful lakes of Michigan. A skilled horseman, Jack managed a riding stable for years, which included an amateur jackpot rodeo, campground, and recreational lake area.
Later in life, Jack dedicated himself to volunteering at the local Humane Society, where his special connection with animals was quickly recognized. He and Sandy welcomed countless shelter animals into their home, and he will be deeply missed by his two dogs and three cats.
Jack was proud of his Native American heritage, as a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Chippewa/Ojibwe tribe, associated with the Eagle Clan. His love for nature was profound, and he spent many hours sharing his passion for the outdoors, emphasizing the importance of a positive relationship with the natural world. Known for his witty sense of humor and fiery intensity, Jack's love for his beautiful lakeside home and quiet life with Sandy brought him deep happiness.
All who knew Jack will feel this tremendous loss. He will be fondly remembered as a strong, passionate man who loved deeply and lived life on his own terms.
