Jack S. Becker, age 72 of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at his home. He was born on October 5, 1941 in Big Rapids, the son of Robert and Blythe (Manbeck) Becker. Jack spent his free time in the kitchen cooking a great home cooked meal or out fishing on the boat. He loved his family and spending time with them. Jack is survived by his wife, Valerie Becker; five children, Randy (Carol) Becker, Tammy (Tom) Kailing, Mark (Leoner) Becker, Angela (Russ) Maguire and Michelle Becker; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice (Gene) Eaton; two brothers, Dennis (Pat) Becker and James (Deb) Becker; five sisters-in-law, Donna (Mike) Jones, Anna Pearl (James) Westover, Patricia Taylor, Penny Newberry and Terrie (Jeff) Morey. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob; son, Rusty; daughter, Trixie; brother-in-law, Wayne Newberry; son-in-law, Kevin; twin great-grandchildren, Calvin and Edwin. The family will greet friends for luncheon from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Big Rapids. A graveside service is being planned for Saturday, May 24, 2014 at New Grant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Valerie Becker.
