Irma L. (Gillmore) Erickson age 94 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 in Stanwood with loved ones at her side. She was born September 2, 1912 in Mecosta County to Marshall and Hazel (Dailey) Gillmore. On June 28, 1930 she married John "Ole" Erickson in Big Rapids and they made their home in Oak Lawn, Ill. In 1952 they moved back to Stanwood where they would spend the rest of their lives. Irma was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Stanwood and Stanwood Eagles Auxillary #4360. Shw qas proud to recieve the Granmother of the year award in 2003 presented by the Stanwood Eagles. She is survived by; Special nephew and niece Edward and Sandra Aemisegger and their family of Stanwood 4 Grandchildren: John (Judy) Erickson, Kim (Keith) Denton, Scott (Pam) Erickson, Kristen Jachimiak and fianc Jason Horne, one sister Hazel Johansen of Grand Rapids, Daughter-in-Law - Rochelle "Rose" Erickson of Oak Forest, IL 9 Great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents Irma was preceded in death by her husband John on August 22, 1984 a son John, Great Grandson; Michael Erickson, sisters; Marvel Fitzgerald, Alberta Wells, Bonna Tiff and Rozella Aemisegger, two brothers; Richard Gillmore and Gale Gillmore. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with visitation one hour prior to the service with Pastor Gerald Switzer officiating. The family will greet friends at the Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorials in Irma's name may be made out to Hospice of Michigan- Big Rapids.
