Iris Frances Fisher, age 97 of Mecosta, passed away March 22, 2016. She was born November 22, 1918 in Crystal Township, Montcalm County, Michigan to George Wesley and Audry Frances (Eitiniear) Kast. Iris was married to Alfred Richard Collins on August 30, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan and was married to him until his death on April 9, 1987. She married James R. Fisher in April 1991 until his death on May 8, 1995. Her companion for the last several years was Robert Boochard along with his daughter, Paula. Iris was mother to four children; Kaye Irene (Collins) Ferguson-Patton and husband Richard Patton of Mecosta; Virginia Lee (Collins) Ferguson and husband Leo Ferguson of Grand Rapids and Carolyne Ann (Collins) Oeming of Buffalo Grove IL. Her son, Alfred Richard Collins, Jr., preceded her in death and is survived by his widow, Carolyn of Lansing.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings; Susie (Kast) Taylor, Leona (Kast) Bennett, and Marion Kast.

Her grandchildren are Wendy Oeming, Ginger Lomax, Alexandria Oeming, Kris (Craig) Andresky, Kimberly (David) Reid, Kevin (Shelley) Ferguson, Laura (Christopher) VanWyk, Kelley (Allen) Matthews, Carrie (John Goetz) Higbie, Stan (Martha) Ferguson III. She has thirteen great-grandchildren; Collynne Tyer, Stephanie Matthews, Tommy and Matthew Ferguson, Megan and Andrew Oeming, Simon and Abezash VanWyk, Nolan Ferguson, Evan and Elise Andresky, Ryan and Alex Reid and numerous nieces and nephews.

Iris was a vice president and computer programmer/accountant working for CompuLink and TriCounty Planning in Lansing and at the National Project in Agricultural Communications at Michigan State University in East Lansing.

Iris graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1936. She was a life member of Arbutus Chapter of Eastern Star (Lansing) and a very active member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Mecosta Michigan. She has lived in the Mecosta area since her retirement in 1972.

A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at New Hope United Methodist Church in Mecosta. Memorial contributions in Iriss name may be made to Hospice of Michigan or New Hope United Methodist Church.
