Inez C. Straub, age 91 of Rodney, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Mecosta County Medical Center. She was born April 12, 1916 in Big Rapids to John and Selma (Buser) Bechaz. Inez married John Straub and they made their home on a farm near Rodney. As well as raising her family and helping her husband with the farm, Inez worked at the Wilson Dress Shop in Big Rapids and later at Wolverine World Wide until her retirement. Inez had been a dedicated and active member of the Rodney United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving family whose members include; A daughter; Jean (Harlow) Manahan of Maryland Two sons; Samuel (June) Straub and James Straub all of Rodney Eight grandchildren, Eleven Great-grandchildren A brother; Aldo Bechaz of Big Rapids Five sisters; Carolyn (Garth) Corrie of Big Rapids Annie (John) McHugh of Morley Rose Hathaway of Big Rapids Elsie (Sam) Giuliano and Margie Bulgarella all of Grand Rapids Three sisters-in-law; Erma Bechaz, Jane Bechaz and Elaine (Red) Baumunk all of Big Rapids. And many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Inez was preceded in death by her husband John, on December 12, 2000, three brothers; George, Oswald, and Joseph Bechaz, a sister, Ida Graboskey and a granddaughter; Tammy Straub. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Reverend Larry Nichols officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Pine Plains Cemetery in Colfax Township. Memorial contributions in Inez's name may be given to the Rodney United Methodist Church.
