Howard G. Fisher, age 87 of Canadian Lakes, MI passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 at his home. He was born July 23, 1923 in Inkster, MI the son of James and Anna (Perkins) Fisher. Howard was honorably discharged from the Army after serving during World War II. He loved to golf, enjoyed socializing and was a lifelong member of the Masons. He is survived by 4 children, Donna (Denis) Vogel, Douglas Fisher, Dara (Richard) Knapp and David Fisher; a granddaughter, Meghan (Josh) Elsea; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilou (Jerry) Bramble; 2 brothers-in-law, Elvin Lougheed and Ronald Boyer; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine and later in life his companion, Lillian Pontello; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Lougheed and Lois Boyer; 5 brothers, Donald (Selma), Lee (Mary O), James Jr., William (Mary J.) and Ronald Fisher. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Howard's name in memory of Geraldine and Lillian to the American Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
