Hope Waidelich, 72, of Rodney, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Born on May 13, 1952, in Grand Rapids, she was the cherished daughter of Charles and Dorothy Prater.
Hope devoted her life to caring for others, working as a dedicated nurse for many years. Her compassion extended beyond her career, as she was an active member of Chippewa Lake Community Church, where she joyfully contributed to yard sales, the food pantry, and numerous volunteer efforts. Her faith was the foundation of a life filled with community and friendship.
Hope was united in marriage to Don Waidelich, with whom she shared 20 years before his passing in 2018. She loved and adored her family, finding immense joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Thomas (Theresa Mercer) Hahn, Jon (Nicole) Hahn, Rob Hahn, and Kurt (Alisa) Hahn; her grandchildren: Ashley Hahn, Thomas Jr. (Bridgette) Hahn, Rachel Hahn, Jonathan Hahn, Melissa (Chris) Michael, Hailey Hahn, Zachary (Rashel) Wilson, and Caitlin Hahn; and her great-grandchildren: Rylie, Emsley, Nora, Isaiah, Rhett, and Callan. She also leaves behind her siblings: Wayne Prater, Christina Helms, Thomas Snyder, and Dale Snyder, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Prater; her husband, Don Waidelich; and her siblings, Anna Long and Bill Snyder.
Funeral services to honor Hopes life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes in Barryton. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the same location. Hope will be laid to rest at Chippewa Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Hopes honor may be directed to the Chippewa Lake Community Church Building Fund.
