Henry Thorson Jr., 80, of Stanwood, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1944, in Big Rapids, the son of Henry Sr. and Hilda (Barnum) Thorson.

Henry was united in marriage to his true love, Linda Shineldecker, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Following his service, he worked as a truck driver, dedicating long hours to the road but always remembering that home was where his family was. Nothing made him prouder than returning home to spend time with his loved ones.

A skilled woodworker, Henry found peace in his craft, especially when completing a project. He also enjoyed fishing and camping, embracing the outdoors. Above all, he treasured time with his family and never missed an opportunity to brag about having the best grandchildren in the world.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Thorson; his daughters, Tami (John) Devio, Judy (Richard) Rozell, and Lisa (Richard) Post; his grandchildren, Brandy (Josh) Myers, Amy (Brett) Frederick, David (Amanda) Devio, Robyn Devio, Casey (Marissa) Rozell, Paige (Logan) Clouse, Alex (Tori) Rozell, Roman (Dani) Rozell, and Richard Post; and his great-grandchildren, Rhea Devio, Aubrey Myers, DJ Clouse, and Patrick Frederick. He is also survived by three brothers.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements are in the care of Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, Big Rapids.
