Henry Allen "Bub" Conners , 60, of Stanwood, MI, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, at Spectrum Health, Big Rapids. He was born in Lakeview, on August 7, 1955, the son of Henry and Hazel (DeMott) Conners. After graduating from Chippewa Hills High School in 1974, he made his home in the Stanwood area his entire life. He was employed at Michigan Knife for several years and was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.Henry loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with friends. He earned his pilots license at a young age and loved flying the local area. He also enjoyed flying remote control planes. Henry is survived by his sister, Margie (Rick) Richards, niece Tracie(Ryan) Bell and nephew Chris Richards all of Stanwood, great nephew Colby Bell of Stanwood, great nieces Nikole (Earl) Place of Barryton, Lexi Bell of Blanchard and Serena Bell of Stanwood, great-great niece Alaina Bott of Blanchard, MI. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends plus special friends John and Kitsy Simonson, Rogers Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, MI with Brother Burton Schoder officiating. Burial will be at the Stanwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.Memorial contributions in Henrys name may be made to the ARC "Animal Rescue Coalition" of Mecosta County.
