Helen J. Place, 85, of Barryton went peacefully home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at her home. She was born on October 19, 1931 to George Otis and Edna Belle (Jones) Teeter in Coldwater Twp., Isabella Co., MI. Helen married Earl J. Place on March 8, 1952 in Barryton, MI. Helen was a lifelong member of Brinton Chapel. She taught Sunday School and was the church treasurer for many years. Helen was an avid reader, she loved doing word searches and visiting with her family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Deb and Jim Weber of Stanton, Janell and Roger Fox of Farwell, Clyde and Denise Place of Barryton, Richard and Brenda Place of Lake, Martin and Barb Place of Sears, Susan and Bill Bellinger of Coleman, Mitchell and Connie Place of Byron Center; 46 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren (with two on the way); two special daughters-at-heart Nancy Carman and Laura Place; three sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edna; her beloved husband of 60 years, Earl; seven brothers, one sister and several sisters and brothers-in-law. Services will be at Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. The family will greet friends on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at North Brinton Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Helens name can be given to the family for final expenses.
