Helen R. Bassett, age 92 of Baldwin, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born in Belding on December 13, 1928, the daughter of Glen and Lela (Brooks) Losinger. Helen was a hardworking, loving mother and grandmother. She was a woman of many talents; Helen could hang drywall, run electric, sew, knit, and crochet. She made quilts, scarves, hats, and scrubbies for friends, family, and those in need.
Helen loved the lake; she always said it was "My little piece of heaven". She looked forward to taking all her grandchildren to the lake every summer and loved spending time in her swing there. One of her other favorite past times was working in her flower garden.
Helen is survived by three sons, Thomas of Morley, Ronald (Jacklyn) of Howard City, David of Baldwin; a brother, Carl (Barb) Losinger of Howard City; a sister Eleanor Addington of Morley; grandchildren Jeffery, David, Michael, Timothy, Derrick, Veronica, Matthew, Carrie, Nicholas, and Daniel; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Bassett; a grandson, Andrew; and a sister, Ilene Schoonmaker.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
