Heather M. Martin-MacKersie, age 31, of Barryton a strong and good hearted person, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Mecosta County Medical Center. She was born in Tawas on, September 20, 1976. Heather graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1996. She started her career as a health care professional as an EMT for Mecosta County and then working for Dr. Dubois in Canadian Lakes. Heather was driven and enjoyed working in the O.R. as a health care technician at Mecosta County Medical Center for the last 8 years making several friends. The joys of her life were her two children, affectionately known as her bright lights: Matthew (Little Buddy) and Ashley (Peanut Girl) Dunklee who now reside with their father Michael Dunklee of Mt. Pleasant. Heather had a close bond with her parents who will miss her sense of humor and smile: Bryce and Deborah MacKersie of Barryton. She will be missed by her loving Grandmother; Adleline MacKersie and several Aunts and Uncles: Russ (Holly) Martin, Penny (Steve) Puckett, Jean (Tom) Juep, Melissa (Butch) Duvall, Eric (Tereasa) Martin, Kelly (Todd) O'Farrell, Eli (Melissa) Martin, Marilyn (Carl) DeLong, Blaine (Gloria) MacKersie, Kent (Becky) MacKersie, Mitchell (Sandy) MacKersie and beloved family friend Faith Woodbury. Heather has numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will continue to treasure the memories they hold in their hearts. Heather is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Russell and Phyllis Martin who passed away 2 years ago and paternal grandfather Harland MacKersie. The family will greet friends at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2007. Services will be held at the Barryton United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16th with Pastor Jim Breithaupt officiating.
