Obituary

Harry James Rummins, age 77 of Barryton/Sears, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Reed City. He was born on March 8, 1939 in Holt, Michigan to Harry E. and Ruby (Larner) Rummins. Harry graduated from Holt High School and made his home in the Holt area where he was employed at GM. He was an experimental assembler and enjoyed his job for 35 years before retiring in January of 1997. In March of 1997 he married Bessie French and they made their home in Barryton. Harry looked forward to the opportunity to giving a vehicle a little more speed especially police cars. He loved to travel and explore the roads. He was strong willed, hardworking and knew how to get a job done. Harry is survived by his wife of almost 20 years Bessie; children, Harry "Scott" (Jessica) Rummins, Candy (Ramon) Hernandez, Robert "Joe" Mudgett, Kevin Mudgett, Richard French Jr., Lynnette Smith, Roger French and Corey French; two sisters, Betty Duff and Dianne Dean; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and endeared friends who will continue to hold their memories close to their hearts. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Skipp Rummins; a grandson, Kevin Lynn Mudgett Jr. and a brother Gordon Rummins.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the house. Memorial donations in Harrys name can be made to the American Heart Association, Am. Cancer Society or Am. Lung Assoc.
