Harry D. Ramsey, age 54 a lifelong resident of Morley, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. He was born February 4, 1957 in Big Rapids, the son of Howard and Lena (Boody) Ramsey. Harry graduated from Morley-Stanwood High School in 1975. He was a dedicated worker for Milbocker and Sons for over 20 years as a bridge builder. Harry loved riding his four-wheeler in the U.P.; he was an avid hunter and fisherman and he cherished his hunting trips with his family and friends. Harry had a sense of humor and was one to give everyone a hard time. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his wife, daughters, and granddaughters; he will be greatly missed. Harry is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Magoon) Ramsey of Morley; 3 daughters, Katie (Jason) Greene of Rockford, Lindsey (Curt) Simon of Remus and Leah Ann Ramsey of Morley; 2 granddaughters, Ava and Chloe Greene; 3 brothers, Howard (Sharon) Ramsey of Casnovia, Ralph (Marva) Ramsey of Howard City, Cless (Pat) Ramsey of Evart; 3 sisters, Sandy (Joe) Bott of Blanchard, Yvonne Cornell of Morley and Debbie (Ed) Cook of Marion; 2 brothers-in-law, Rick (Bonnie) Koehn of Sparta and Chad (Ronda) Magoon of Howard City; a sister-in-law, Kim Magoon of Cedar Springs; mother and father-in-law, Ron and Sue Magoon of Cedar Springs; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harry was preceded in death by 1 brother, Wayne Holtzander; 5 sisters, Donna Bott, Ilene Knapp, Ellen Rasmussen, Murtie Koehn and Mabel Sims; 2 brothers-in-law, Rex Edwards and Punk Cornell. A memorial service will take place Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 9th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Harry's name may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
