Harry Vern Cross, age 93 of Paris passed Thursday, October 14, 2021. Harry was born in Bitely on March 25, 1928 to Archie and Essie (Thomas) Cross. Harry married Dorothy Seaman, and together they made their home and started a family in Paris. Dorothy preceded Harry in death following a tragic car accident. He later married Lillian "Lill" Tucker on October 17, 1958 in Big Rapids; Lillian preceded him in death on January 30, 2020. Harry worked in the Denham Plant in Big Rapids until they closed, then went to Lacks Industries on Cascade. He finished his working career as a custodian at St. Mary Catholic Church of Big Rapids. He enjoyed hunting, and during retirement, attending bingo with Lillian. Harry is survived by his children, Pat (Jerry) Howell of Paris, Judy (Ed) Finch of Wisconsin, Don (Marie) Cross of Big Rapids, Gayle (Sparky) Brynelsen of Bitely; son-in-law, David Allers of Morley; sister, Velma Seaman of Big Rapids; eighteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren as well as several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Bregg; daughter, Carol Allers; granddaughter, Rebecca Allers and his 8 brothers and sisters. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral in Big Rapids with Pastor David Bongard officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Harrys name may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.
