Obituary

Harold S. Lewis, age 84 of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006 at his home. He was born May 31, 1921, the oldest of eighteen children, to Samuel and Zella (Ellis) Lewis in Antrim County. Harold was honorably discharged from the United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II in the European Theater. He married Elois Bunker Lewis on March 1, 1947 and they moved to Big Rapids to make their home. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, when he could no longer enjoy those activities, he developed the hobby of woodworking and decorating items with stones and shells. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elois two daughters; Daralee Rolston and Lorraine Lewis all of Big Rapids Son; Deuaine (Bobbie) Lewis of Mason Ten grandchildren and their spouses Twelve great-grandchildren Five brothers, nine sisters and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his son Bradley Lewis on April 5, 2006, son-in-law; Sam Rolston, two sisters and one brother. There will be no public services; however memorial contributions in Harold's memory may be left at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids where arrangements were made.
