Harold L. Johnson, 91, of St. Johns, and formerly of Lansing and Barryton, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Hospice House of Lansing. He was born January 16, 1916, in Sheridan Township of Mecosta County, Michigan, to Ray and Elsie (Butcher) Johnson. Harold married Marie Whipple in 1937 and together they made their home in both the Barryton and Lansing areas. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army during World War II. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, of 64 years, Marie in 2001. He is survived by his three daughters, Carolyn (James) Teremi of St. Johns, Shirlee (Roger) Scovill of Bay City, and Sharleen (William) Maynard of Lansing; his grandchildren, Kurt (Marikay) Teremi, Tom (Mary) Teremi, Susan (Zach) Kelley, Michael Maynard, Bethany Scovill (Kyle Neville), Katlyn Scovill, Mary (Jeff) Dionise, Bridgitt (James) Slear, six great-granddaughters, Sarah and Samantha Teremi, Michelle and Megan Teremi, Mikayla and Lily Kelley; two great-grandsons, Hunter Kelley and Asher Neville. He is also survived by his wife, Delores Blake, of Grand Rapids and her family; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 28, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, 510 W. Ottawa, Lansing, with the Rev. Anthony Patrick officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Interment of Cremains will take place Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Strong Cemetery on 17 Mile Road south of Barryton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harold's name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lansing or Hospice House of Lansing (St. Lawrence Campus).
