Obituary

Harold M. Duquesnel, age 91 of Paris, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at home. He was born June 9, 1923 in McKees Rocks, PA the son of Harold M. and Eugenie (Lepelletier) Duquesnel. Harold was honorably discharged from the United States Army, serving during World War II in North Africa and Italy. He married the former Joan L. Wildung on November 4, 1951. Harold began his collegiate education at Pace University and later earned his Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Detroit. Harold and Joan made their home in New York, Michigan and Illinois during Harold's many years of employment at R.C.A. Global Communications; following retirement they returned to Michigan. Harold was a member of the Stockbridge American Legion Post #510 where he had served as the Post Commander and he was a devout member of the Catholic Church his entire life. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan Duquesnel of Paris; four children, George (Adoree Miron) Duquesnel of Delton, Irene (Ken) Kasbohm of Paris, Paul (Sally) Duquesnel of Novi, Edward (Melanie) Duquesnel of Northville; 12 grandchildren, Mitchell and Peter Duquesnel, Brant (Kristie) Kasbohm, Joseph (Jennie) Kasbohm, Gregory and Mark Kasbohm, Danielle, David and Dana Duquesnel, Amanda, John and M. Harold Duquesnel; a sister, Madeleine Mulroy of Downers Grove, IL and many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Duquesnel. Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Father Michael Burt officiating. The family will greet friends two hours prior to services on Saturday (beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon until services). Military honors will be held under the auspices of American Legion Post #554 of Morley. Memorial contributions in Harold's name may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
