Obituary

Gregory A. "Greg" Cranney, age 72 of Morley, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born in Gooding, Idaho on August 22, 1951, the son of Wendell and Ruth (Adams) Cranney. Greg was a 1970 graduate of Morley Stanwood High School. He earned his Associate of Arts from Ferris State University. Greg worked on his family farm, Cranney Farms. He was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Greg liked to fish, ride bikes, walk, and spend time with his friends. He is survived by his daughter, Alissa Cranney (Jorge Alvarez) of Cadillac; two grandchildren, Patricia and Francisco Alvarez; six siblings, Roma Lynn Beaton of California, W. Phillip (Pat) Cranney of Ypsilanti, Duane (Bonnie) Cranney of Big Rapids, Gene Cranney of Texas, Brad Cranney (Yufang Du) of Port Huron, and Brent Cranney (Becky King) of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Ross Cranney. Funeral Services will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the Funeral Home. Greg will be laid to rest at Higbee Cemetery in Morley. Memorial contributions may be made in Gregs name to Meceola Currie Comfort Home, 204 N. Patterson Street, Reed City, MI 49677.
