Gregory Robert Bambach, age 65, passed away on January 12, 2026, in Weidman, Michigan.
Gregory was born on September 12, 1960, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. He attended Beal City Public Schools and graduated in 1979. Masonry was his life’s work, and he took great pride in working with his hands and building things meant to endure.
Gregory found his greatest peace along the Chippewa River, especially on the land he owned there. He deeply loved the river—watching eagles soar overhead, seeing deer cross the water, tending large bonfires, and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed long conversations, working outside, and being with friends. Above all, he cherished time spent with his wife.
Gregory is survived by his wife, Traci Bambach; his children, Justin Bambach and Paige Bambach; and his five grandchildren, Quinn, Olivia, Brooks, Eastyn, and Brehtt Bambach, whom he shared with his son Justin and daughter-in-law Ashley Bambach. He was also a stepfather to Traci’s three children.
He is also survived by his mother, Janet Bambach, and his sister, Cherrie Bambach. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Bambach.
A memorial service is being planned for Friday, January 23, 2026, at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Barryton, Michigan. The family will greet friends at 11:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Gregory will be remembered for his love of the land, his strong work ethic, his appreciation for nature, and the meaningful conversations he shared with those around him.
