Grace M. Spiker, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home, following a brief battle with cancer, on Friday, August 1, 2014. She was born June 12, 1930 in McIvor, the daughter of Kenneth and Beulah (Norris) Pringle. Grace grew up in McIvor and graduated from Tawas City High School. She married Earl T. Spiker on October 16, 1948 and they made their home in McIvor. They moved to Bay City in 1963 where Grace worked for the Dow Chemical Company until her retirement in 1985. Following retirement Grace moved to Lake George and finally to Big Rapids to be near her family. Grace is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Diana) Spiker of Scottsdale, AZ, Daniel (Katheryn) Spiker of Stanwood, Ronald (Sandy) Spiker of Phoenix, AZ, Donald Spiker of Big Rapids; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Norma Jean Olar of Lake George and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl T. Spiker in 1991 and a sister, Beverly Gratopp. A graveside memorial service will place will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday August, 18, 2014 at the Whittemore Cemetery. A celebration of Grace's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19th at her granddaughter's home, Amy Near, in Morley.
