Grace "Burnedda" Maguire, age 87 of Paris, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007, at her home. She was born September 8, 1920 in Grand Rapids to James and Wilhelmina (Wiegers) Stocks. Burnedda was a 1938 graduate of Creston High School in Grand Rapids. Burnedda married Forrest D. Maguire on August 26, 1950 in Grand Rapids and they resided in Paris. Burnedda was a member of St. Anne's Church in Paris. She is survived by her children: Patty Maguire of Paris JoEllen (Paul) Quick of Big Rapids Laura (Doug) Curry of Rapid River Rita Maguire of Buchanan Ralph (Beth Ann) Maguire of Kalamazoo Judy Nelson of Big Rapids 11 grandchildren: Jennifer, Emily and Sara Jarvis Taylor and Sydney Curry Paige, Brooke and Grace Maguire Allison, Brenda and Breann Nelson and 1 great grandson: Forrest Jarvis, sister: Frances Walenga, 2 sisters-in-law: Dorothy Stocks and Evelyn (Bruce) Hampel, two special friends: Lois Toman and Fred Bissett and many nieces and nephews. Burnedda was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Forrest in 2003, brother Ervin and sister Mary. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids with Father Dan DePew officiating. The family will greet friends at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to Wednesday's service at the church. The rosary will be said 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Anne's Cemetery near Paris.
