Grace E. Cushman, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Grand Rapids at the age of 83. She was born in Detroit on September 3, 1933 to Mossum and Iva (Miller) Syer. Grace was raised in Detroit and graduated from Cooley High School in 1951. She enjoyed making stained glass windows and crocheting dog pads for the Humane Society. Grace married Darwin "Cush" Cushman on August 30, 1969 in Jackson, MI. They made their home in Jackson until his retirement and then moved to Lost Lake. Grace was a member of the Evart Eagles and the Barryton Road Runners Club. Grace is survived by the family she loved: sons, Charles Miller and Thomas (Lynn) Miller and Brian Cushman and Michael (Barbara) Cushman; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends shes met along the way. Grace was preceded in death by her husband Darwin "Cush" Cushman in 2016; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Cushman; siblings, Charlie, Roy, Jane and Jack; and her parents, Mossum and Iva. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. In her memory donations to the Barryton Road Runners Club would be appreciated.
