Gordon W. Rondeau, age 81 of Paris formerly of Jenison, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at Altercare of Big Rapids. He was born December 13, 1929 in Grand Rapids, the son of Guy and Nora (Fredenburg) Rondeau. Gordon was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving during the Korean War. He was employed by Oliver Machinery 45 years and retired in 1993. Gordon loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Nora Rondeau and a sister Violet Michaelis. Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Jalaine; children, Russell (Tammy) of Holland, Sheryl Mercer of CO., Laurie (Doug) Coeling of Wyoming, Kimberly Rondeau of Jenison and Steven (Maryann) of Jenison; 5 grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; a brother, Thomas (Cindy) of MD; Aunt Clara Ptak of Grand Rapids; brothers-in-law Don Michaelis of VA, Richard (Sandra) West of Jenison and Jerry (Sharon) West of Wyoming; several cousins, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the nurses and aides of Altercare of Big Rapids and Heartland Hospice. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Doug Bennett officiating. The family will greet friends at 11:00 a.m., 2 hours prior to the service, at the funeral home.
