Glorya A. Miller, age 85 formerly of Lake/Mt. Pleasant passed away at Cedar Crest AFC Home in Remus, on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. She was born on December 28, 1925 to James and Florence (Casey) Townsend in Pontiac. Glorya was a good homemaker and was active in cub scouts for Rick and Randy. In 1977 Norman and Glorya moved to the Lake/Sherman City area from the Clarkston area. Together they helped in the restoration of the Sherman City Church and attended the Barryton Church of Christ. After Norman's passing in 2003 her church family became an active part of her life. She enjoyed clerical work, quilting with the Busy Bees, flower gardening and reading. Among those that will miss Glorya are two sons, Randy (Donna) Miller, Richard (Colleen) Miller; four stepchildren, Betty Cochrane, Pat Beach, Terry (Margaret) Miller, Norman "Fred" (Debbie) Miller; 19 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren, one brother Tom Townsend, two sisters-in-law, Ruby Menard and Viola Wright and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Besides her parents James and Florence Townsend she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years Norman Miller, step-daughter Norma Jean Dockery, son-in-law Robert Beach and Grandsons Robert Jr. & David Beach. A memorial service will be held at 1:00p.m. on June 18, 2011 at the Barryton Church of Christ with Pastor Randy Piatt officiating. Burial will be at Sherman City Cemetery. Memorial donations in Glorya's name can be made to Hospice of Michigan.
