Glen L. Miller, age 77 of Rodney, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his home. He was born March 23, 1944 in Barryton, the son of Ivan L. and Mable L. (Brown) Miller. Glen graduated from Barryton Rural Agricultural High School. He married Claudia Maxon in 1971 in Big Rapids and together they made home in Rodney for many years. Glen worked as a driller in the Oil Fields for over 20 years. Farming was his true passion and he was able to farm his entire life. He also worked as a logger for a time and with this knowledge he taught his grandchildren how to identify all species of tree by bark and leaves. Glen knew the location of every apple tree in Mecosta County. He loved being outdoors. He was a successful deer hunter and Glen especially enjoyed ice fishing, spending lots of time on Evans Lake where he grew up. He could name every bird in Michigan by sight and call. Glen is survived by his wife Claudia, his daughter, Renee (Ed) Tolhurst, his son Paul (Chelsea) Miller all of Rodney; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Mark Morningstar) Ottobre, Rachel Ottobre, Kylie Miller, Carleigh Thompson, Alison Miller, Carter Skinner, Ivan Miller; several step-grandchildren; beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; several nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Rachel and her husband Earl Johnson. Glen will be laid to rest in the spring at Martiny Township Cemetery in Rodney.
