Glen "Butch" McDonald Jr., age 69 of Barryton, passed away at home with family at his side on Saturday, July 29, 2017. He was born in Muskegon on August 4, 1947 to Glen Sr. and Laveda (Greggs) McDonald. While growing up he helped on the family farm in Weidman until he was drafted into the service. Butch was honorably discharged from the United States Army following the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rita; children, Ric Dreese of CA, Bill McDonald of Gowen, Dave McDonald of Barryton, Kelly McDonald of KY, Leroy (Bethany) McDonald of Mt. Pleasant; step-children, Monique (Gary) McFarland of Weidman, Tiffany Lubs of Remus and Joshua Lubs of Barryton; siblings, Richard (Geneva) Lathrop, Mark (Lisa) McDonald, Karen (Wil) Sincler, Wayne (Linda) McDonald and Barbara McDonald, 23 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Those that have passed on before him are his parents; step-mother, Mildred, his beloved Grandma Hamel; siblings, Pat Durham, Sharry Maxwell, Sandy Cherney and Joe McDonald. A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m. (Noon) on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Glens house. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Weidman. Memorials can be made to Rita McDonald to help with Glens final expenses. The family would like to thank Mid-Michigan Health Hospice.
