Gladys E. Davis, age 83 of Big Rapids, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born November 1, 1928 in Brunswick, GA, the daughter of George and Annie (Westberry) Andrews. Gladys married JL Davis in 1948 in Detroit and together they raised their family in Wayne. She was a very talented pastel artist and had a great interest for antiques. Gladys is survived by three sons, George (Linda) Davis of Taylor, Mike (Susan) Davis of White Cloud and Steve (Janet) Davis of Dearborn; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Andrews of Brunswick, GA; a sister, Alma Irby of Jacksonville, FL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband JL, her parents, two sisters and one brother. A memorial service will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Ed Milam officiating. The family will greet friends at 1:00 p.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made in Gladys' name to the Special Olympics, 1133 19th St, N.W., Washington, DC 20036.
