Gina Mae Gilbert, age 73, of Big Rapids, passed away on January 23, 2018 at Spectrum Health, Big Rapids. Gina was born on June 28, 1944 to C. Norris and Alice (Whalen) Gilbert. Gina attended St. Marys Catholic School, Big Rapids High School and earned her Associates Degree from Ferris State University. She was a lifelong member of St Mary - St Paul Catholic Parish in Big Rapids. Gina loved baking, knitting, puzzles and especially enjoyed playing cards and games with friends. Gina is survived by her brothers, Gordon (Pam) Gilbert of Big Rapids and Gary (Ann) Gilbert of Mecosta, special cousin Shawn (Patti) Downey, nephew Todd Gilbert, nieces, Danya Pollaski, Kirsten Harper, Erin Gilbert, Allison Sanders, grand and great- grand nieces and nephews, many cousins and her friends at Harmony Pines. Gina was preceded in death by her parents Norris and Alice Gilbert. Mass of the Resurrection will take place at 11:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Big Rapids with Father Jegar Fickel officiating. Family will greet friends and relatives at the church one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, January 26th at St. Mary Catholic Church, l009 Marion Ave, Big Rapids. Burial will take place in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Big Rapids, in the spring.
