Geraldine "Jerry" Ranshaw, age 85 of Chippewa Lake formerly of Mason, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on July 6, 1936, the daughter of Edward Mansfield and Deloris (Wightman) Nye. Jerry was born and raised in Mason on her uncles farm where her passion for riding horses began. She married Ronald Ranshaw Sr. on July 8, 1953, in Covington, KY before he entered the United States Navy on July 14. Together they raised their six children in the Lansing area. During this time, Jerry earned her Cosmetology License and owned and operated a hair salon in her home. Jerry was proud of her accomplishment of being a start up member of a parent advisory committee in the Lansing School District to support racial integration goals in the 1960s. She and Ron moved to Chippewa Lake in 1980 to enjoy their retirement. Jerry was a trustworthy and reliable mother, grandmother, and friend. You could count on her advice as she would always be there to listen and help when you needed her. Jerry looked forward to spending time with her family as this is where she found her joy in life. She will be greatly missed. Jerry is survived by her six children, Debbie (Dave) Suty, Ronald "Butch" (Charlene Kohl-Ranshaw) Ranshaw Jr., Tammy (Al) Dionise, Michelle (Donald Clifton) Eash and Todd (Connie) Ranshaw; 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as her extended family and all her friends that became family in Chippewa Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Ronda Vorce, and two sisters Sandy and Linda. Cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
