Geraldine Mae "Gerry" Armstrong, age 91 of Morley, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at home surrounded by family and friends. Gerry was born August 25, 1924 in Mio, MI, the daughter of the late Stanley and Nellie (Kennedy) Hager. Gerry married Robert (Bob) Armstrong in Detroit on August 12, 1944. They moved to the Morley area in late 1947 where they raised three sons, Robert "Butch", William "Larry", and Richard "Dick", while operating a chicken farm. Gerry was also employed by Morley Stanwood Schools and Ferris State College until retirement in the mid 1980s. While employed at Ferris she was a member of C.O.G.s (College Office Girls) and enjoyed many lunches with "The Girls". Gerry was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with Bob at various locations. She was extremely proud of her three hole in ones! Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her son Butch, daughter-in-law Mary and her great-grandson Max Nunn. She is survived by her sister, Lois Neilson; two sons, Larry (Cat), Richard (Suzy); grandchildren Jodie Armstrong (Nunn), Bill Armstrong, Ruthie Armstrong (Reilly), Bobbie Armstrong, Kaitlyn Toohey, Stacey Armstrong (Elliott), John Armstrong, Chris Armstrong and many great-grandchildren. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.
