Gene Leon Ingraham Sr., age 67, of Frederic, formerly of Barryton, passed away Friday, November 9, 2007. He was born January 2, 1940 in Stanton the only son of Harris and Leona (Buchholz) Ingraham. Gene was raised by his beloved grandparents and knew them as mom and dad. On June 27, 1970 Gene married Anita Skutt in Owosso and they made their home in Barryton. He was a press operator at R.J. Tower for 23 years. Upon retirement in 2003 Gene and Anita moved to Frederic. Gene enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, bicycling, snowmobiling and camping. He had a John Deere B that he couldn't resist tinkering with and liked to build things. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Anita Ingraham of Frederic, seven children who will remember the practical jokes that their Dad loved to play: Deborah (Daniel) Otis of Grand Rapids, Gene (Patricia) Ingraham Jr. of Big Rapids, Anita (Christopher) Campbell of Big Rapids, Kenneth (Marlene) Ingraham of Lake, Virginia (Fiance' Brian Brown) Ingraham of Big Rapids, Mark Ingraham of Frederic, Stacey (Josh Muzyl) Ingraham of Frederic, half sisters: Loretta (Gary) Loomis, Betty (John) Smith half brother: Eric (Lynn) Ingraham brothers and sisters (cousins): Carolyn (Gary), Bill (Wanda), Ray (Pat), Marilyn (Terry), fifteen grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his two Chihuahua dogs that he absolutely loved Sandy and Lucky. Gene was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his step mom Mavis Ingraham, half brother "Junior" Harris, son David and three grandchildren. Funeral services for Gene will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 13th at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to Tuesday's service.
