Gary Wooster, 78, of Barryton, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025. He was born on January 6, 1947, the son of William and Lillian (Doe) Wooster in Flint. On February 14, 1997, he was united in marriage to Diane Kay Locklear. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and Navy.
Gary retired from General Motors after 30 years as a skilled laborer. His favorite pastime was hunting, and he also enjoyed going to the casino, reading, and playing pool and darts—often accompanied by a few beverages and good company. He loved socializing with friends and family, especially at his favorite spot, Murphy's. He also enjoyed golfing and watching football.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Diane Locklear-Wooster; children: Michael Locklear, Carriann (Ricky) Withers, Corrinna (Aaron) Hernandez, Joshua Wooster, and Dustin (Farron) Wooster; grandsons: Dalton, Jacob, Devon, Gage, and Colin; two great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Avery; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Eugene Wooster, Sharma Alexander, and Charles Wooster.
Memorial Services will be conducted on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Homes, Barryton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4–8:00 P.M. at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Homes, Barryton. Military Honors will be conducted by Barryton American Legion Post 473.
