Obituary

Gary Weber, 63, of Morley, passed away on August 28, 2025. He was born on July 18, 1962 to Clarence and Wanda Weber in Grand Rapids. Gary and his beloved wife of 22 years, Sherrill Weber, were born in the same hospital only two weeks apart.

No one threw bigger bonfires, blasted louder music, or had more fun than Gary. To his neighbors and friends, he was always someone you could count on—whether it was tinkering in the garage or simply sitting down for a good chat. His competitive spirit shone through in everything he did, especially behind the wheel; Gary earned multiple awards for his skill in driving mud trucks. He also loved hunting, though he was just as content to relax in the blind with a beer in hand.

Gary had a deep affection for Saint Bernard dogs and a special knack for raising and training them. While he may not be attending the Wheatland Music Festival in person this year, his family looks forward to celebrating the weekend with him in spirit, carrying on the joy and traditions he loved most.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sherrill; treasured daughters: Sherrill "Pookie" (Jeff) Lunsted, Katie Jo Zahm, and Krista (Thomas) McPhall; mother-in-law: Patricia Shadle; sister: Marie Woderak; grandchildren: Addison, Jaxxin, Kiaroh, Michael, Monica, and Jordan; great-grandchild: Remmington, with one more due in January 2026; as well as countless close friends, family members, and neighbors.

He is preceded in death by both parents, who were in their 40s and 60s when Gary was born; siblings: Jean and Clare Weber; and grandchild: Athea Jo.

A memorial service will be held at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, Big Rapids, on Friday, September 12, 2025, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a time of sharing at 3:00 PM.  A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Post 554: 2560 Northland Drive, Morley, MI 49336.
