Gary L. Grosbeck, age 86 of Rodney, passed away with his family by his side Monday, October 16, 2023 at his home. He was born in Stanwood on September 19, 1937, the son of Leonard and Evon (Fick) Groesbeck. Gary honorably served his country in the United States Army.
He married Arlene Lintemuth Oaks on March 26, 2003, and together they made their home in Rodney. Gary had many talents; including, woodworking and repairing small engines. He enjoyed gardening and growing indoor plants.
Garys absolute favorite thing involved anything where his loving wife of 20 years was by his side, Arlene who survives him. He is also survived by seven children, Anita (Matt) Guthrie of New York, Rosana Nelson of White Cloud, Melissa (Dennis) Kantola of Newaygo, Mary (Terry) Battjes of Hickory Corners, Theresa (Ron) Kurtzhals of Newaygo, Dave Williams of Caledonia, and Emily (Greg) Jerls of Caledonia; 13 grandchildren, Claire Guthrie (fianc Timmy Robinson), Emma Guthrie, Heather (Jeff) Wolfsen, Andrea Kantola (Cody Hinton), Kasey (Robert) Roszell, Sebastian (Jenna) Battjes, Brandon (Michelle) Battjes, Zane Battjes, Makayla Kurtzhals, Jozlin Kurtzhals, Kobe Kurtzhals, Megan (Tim) Nelson, and Sami Jo Jerls (Trey Hagstrom); 12 great-grandchildren and one great-grandson on the way; three siblings, Linda Palethrope, Delores (Bill) Cross, and Russ Grosbeck; sisters-in-law, Alice Groesbeck, Carol Lintemuth, and Donna Truesdell; brother-in-law, Alvah Lintemuth; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry Fick and Merle Groesbeck, sister Janice Newberry, son Sam Oaks, and grandson Kyle Jerls.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
