Garold T. "Sparky" Sparks, age 84 of Morley, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Greenville on April 7, 1938, the son of Truman and Reva (Shank) Sparks. He married Beverly Seabolt on August 26, 1956 in Sparta and together they raised their family in Morley. Garold retired from General Motors. He was a man of many talents that knew how to do everything and did it well. Garolds family was blessed as he was a good teacher and they were able to learn from him. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle with Beverly. Garold also liked to watch the Detroit Tigers and was a member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Sparks of Morley; four children, Molly (David) Deal of Fremont, Sandy (Donald) Wright, Marvin (Trina) Sparks, Michael (Staci) Sparks, all of Morley; 12 grandchildren, Amy (Luke), Russell, Antony (Brenda), Donny, Fawn (Matt), Chad (Krystal), River, Summer (Kevin), Janine (George), Marvin (Alexandra), Michael, and Felicia; 31 great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Detmer of Morley and Muriel Weessies of Kalkaska; and many nieces and nephews. Garold was preceded in death by his parents and great-grandson PJ. Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor David Bongard from Luther Bible Chapel officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the Funeral Home. Garold will be laid to rest at Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley. Memorial contributions may be made in Garolds name to Emmanuel Hospice.
