Gailey V. Beals, formerly of Rockford, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Altercare of Big Rapids at the age of 90 years and 36 days. She will be lovingly missed by her daughters and their families; Jack and Jackie HaverKamp and Kevin and Judy Allen, all of Stanwood; her grandchildren, Kim and Lon Herrington, Michelle and Steve Clark, Butch Migoski and friend Lorraine Norton, Matthew Migoski, Meghan and Dan Parker, Rory Allen; her great-grandchildren, Alex, Abby and Cassie Herrington, Wyatt and Garrett Migoski, David, Joey and Elizabeth Parker and Austin Cornell and Braden Allen. Gailey is also survived by her sister, Betty Allen and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Beals Jr. and her son-in-law, Bernie Migoski; her parents; three brothers and one sister. Gailey worked for 38 years for Wolverine World Wide, first in the corporate tannery office and later, 33 years in the Tannery Lab. She was a Camp Fire Leader in Rockford and was a bowler. Gailey worked in many capacities in her church in Stanwood. She was fiercely proud of her Scottish heritage and was able to travel to England and Scotland; she always said it was a highlight of her life. Gailey was a true Christian Lady, as anyone who knew her, would agree. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24th at the Stanwood Free Methodist Church with Pastor Ron White officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, January 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Burial will be at Stanwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Stanwood Free Methodist Church or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
