Gabrial Brett "Gabe" Harkins, age 33, passed away January 29, 2017. He was born July 22, 1983 the son of Brett and Victoria Harkins of Big Rapids. Gabe graduated from Big Rapids High School and later Ferris State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He was employed by Ferris State University as a Media Production Graphic Design Artist. He is survived by his parents; a brother, Zachary and Megan Harkins and their daughter, Hailey all of Sanford, Florida and many other extended family members. Gabe was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leon and Lois Harkins and his maternal grandparents, Theodore and Agnes May Wierzbicki. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Big Rapids with Father Michael Burt officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to Mass at the church on Wednesday. Gabe admired Katies boys, Aaron, Benjamin and Callum; with that in mind, the family wishes memorial contributions in Gabes name be made to Callum and Ben Blackburn to assist with their future and education.
