Frank E. LaRocque, age 80 of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at Mecosta County Medical Center in Big Rapids. He was born April 8, 1931 in Big Rapids, the son of Frank and Agnes (Spedoski) LaRocque. Frank was a lifetime resident of Big Rapids. He attended St. Mary's as a child and later graduated from Big Rapids High School. Frank was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force after serving during the Korean War. He worked as an electrician most of his life; working at Adkins Electric and J and C Electric both in Big Rapids. Frank was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church in California for 14 years. He was a man of strong faith. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Big Rapids; 2 beloved daughters, Connie Decker and Jill Bowman both of Big Rapids; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister Josephine Williams of Big Rapids; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Frank was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Barb and Dawn. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6th at Trinity Fellowship Church with Pastor Gary DeBock and Bill Routley officiating. There will be a luncheon following the service. Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 8th at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta with full military honors under the auspices of the United States Air force. Memorial contributions in Frank's name may be directed to his family and will later be donated to a Veteran's Organization.
