Frank M. Hicks, 69 of Big Rapids (Rogers Heights) left this earth to be with his Lord, on the evening of Tuesday February 2, 2010 surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Hicks was born in Taylorville, Illinois on October 17, 1940 to Frank and Barbara Hicks who preceded him in death. Following High School in Illinois, he enlisted in the United States Navy for six years. He graduated from Great Lakes Bible College in Lansing, Michigan and began ministering in churches in Michigan and Indiana. He was still ministering to the Rogers Heights Christian Church in Big Rapids at the time of his death. He fought the good fight, he has finished the course, he kept the faith. Frank is now at home with his Lord. We rejoice for his victory, he will be missed deeply by his wife, family and all those whose lives he touched. Survivors include his wife Margaret "Trudy" Hicks of Big Rapids; children, Mary (Pete) Simatos of Grand Rapids, Michigan, William Hicks of Newaygo and Michael (Helen) Hicks of Utah. He leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren and eight precious great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers; Jim Hicks of Decatur, Illinois, John Hicks of Keokuk, Iowa and David Hicks of Dunlap, Illinois. His sister, Helen "CeCe" (Cliff) Cummings of Springfield, Illinois and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6th at the Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Scott Saltsman officiating. Burial will be at Ladner Cemetery in Rogers Heights. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Frank's memory may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the Rogers Heights Christian Church.
