Frances L. DeCraene July 19, 1916-Oct. 1, 2006 BAY CITY, Mich. Frances Louise DeCraene, 90, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday in Bay Regional Medical Center. She was born July 19, 1916, in Kewanee, Ill., to William and Margaret (Tobin) DeBarre. On Dec. 31, 1936, she married Victor J. DeCraene in Kewanee, Ill. He died June 29, 1976. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Big Rapids. She resided in Big Rapids for 50 years before moving to Bay City in 2000. She is survived by five daughters, Judy (Charles) Frantz, Bay City, Janet (Thomas) Taylor and Mary (Gerry) Hertzler, both of Goshen, Ind., Kathy (John) Daldin, Royal Oak, and Paula (John) Willett, Lowell; a son, James DeCraene, North Fort Myers, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria Frances Newman, on Sept.20, 1999 and a daughter-in-law, Carol DeCraene. Funeral Mass will take place 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids with Father Dan DePew officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, at the church, one hour prior to services from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions in Frances DeCraene's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's research Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
