Floyd J. Tice, age 94, of Evart passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Metron of Belding. Floyd was born October 26, 1913 in Evart near Barryton to Clarence and Gertrude (King) Tice. On September 16, 1953 he married Crystal M. Omans and they made their home in the Lansing area where they raised their family. Although Floyd moved to Evart in 1963 he continued working at Oldsmobile in Lansing. He retired in the 1970's after 25 years. Floyd was an avid dog lover, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his family and treasured the time he got to spend with them. He is survived by three children: Boyd (Sharon) Tice of Dimondale, Gary (Peggy) Tice of Mason and Corine (Loren) Parks of Mason, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law; Vera Roose and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Crystal on Feb. 20, 2002, great grandson Thomas Hoskins and nine siblings. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor Tom Hicks officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will be at Sylvan Twp. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers it is requested memorial donations in Floyd's name be made to the Mecosta County Commission on Aging for the meals on wheels program.
