Florence Ann "Floss" Corner, age 81 of Big Rapids, went home to our Lord on Sunday, September 25, 2016. She was born December 10, 1934 in Marne, the daughter of Charles and Carmelita (Schiedel) Corner. Floss was the sixth of 14 children. She grew up in Comstock Park where she was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Floss moved to Big Rapids and became a member of St. Paul Campus Parish. She was employed by Carbinaws, F & S Carton, and Jackson Products retiring in 1999. Floss enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting for morels, and reading. She was a talented woodworker, building her own home. Floss loved spending time with her family. She cherished her grandchildren; creating memories and attending their events. Floss will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Alfred, Ted, Jim, and Marvin; three sisters, Beatrice, Virginia, and Elizabeth. Floss also had a best friend and life partner of 25 years, Judy Bird, who went before her to meet her Savior. She leaves behind the daughter her and Judy shared together, Amie (Rob); she was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren that called her "Granny", Kassidy, Rachel, Taira, and Allyson, they never ceased to bring smiles to her face; five sisters, Doris (Jim), Pat, Shirley, Ora (Joe), and Alice (Jerry); a brother, Lewis (Roberta); and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Father Ronald Schneider officiating. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday before the service at the funeral home. Floss will be laid to rest alongside Judy at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Rapids.
