Fern E. Huffman, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at home with her beloved family at her side. She was born on March 29, 1925 in Coldwater Twp., Isabella Co., MI to Charles "Jack" and Julia (Town) Williams. Fern graduated from Barryton Rural Agricultural School in 1943. On April 21, 1945 she married James W. "Jim" Huffman and they made their home and raised their family in Barryton, where they faithfully attended the Church of God. Fern enjoyed gardening and art and loved animals and her family. Fern is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jim of Barryton; sons, Steve (Virginia) Huffman, Ben Huffman, Naaman (Penny) Huffman all of Barryton and Mark (Nancy) Huffman of Sears; brother-in-law, Ted (Shirley) Huffman of Camden; sister-in-law, Norma Huffman of Reed City; and numerous endeared grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. Fern was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Huffman, siblings, Violet Sloan, Ranson Williams, Clifford "Chum" Willliams, Lurena McNeilly, Lily Rilett and Myrtle McNeilly and a great-grandson, Bradley Huffman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Barryton Church of God with Pastor Gary Bryan officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday (tonight) at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton and one hour prior to services at the Church of God (20244 30th Ave., Barryton).
