Fergie Wallace Wood, age 62, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 18, 2010 at his home in Mt. Pleasant. He was born on March 12, 1948 in Pontiac, MI to Burl and Dorothy (Hitchcock) Wood. Fergie was raised in the Pontiac area and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1966. He was an independent computer specialist through Compuware. Fergie was honorably discharge from the United States Army and was a life member of VFW Post 4106 in Weidman. Fergie married Kathleen O'Brien on June 22, 1991 in Waterford. Together they made their home in Waterford and Okemos areas before moving to Mt. Pleasant in 2001. Fergie's main focus in life was his family. Fergie is survived by his wife Katey of Mt. Pleasant; 3 Children, Kristina (Jamon Macklin) Janke of Alma, Courtney (Jordan) Wheeler of Alma, and Shaylynn Wood of Mt. Pleasant; 5 grandchildren, Faith, Grace, Isaac, Taylor, Ali, and Jamon Jr.; 1sister, Beryl May (Don) Chapman of Roscommon; 1 brother, Bill Wood of Barryton; many brothers and sisters-in-law, 6 nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces and dear friends. Besides his parents, Fergie was preceded in death by his sister Diane Eichenberg in June of 2009 and a nephew, Paul Chapman. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Daggett Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathon Bakker officiating. Burial will follow at the Sherman City Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and then again on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until services at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Fergie's name will go into a trust for his grandchildren.
