Faye Marie Thomas, age 77 of Remus, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 18, 1944 in Big Rapids the daughter of Thomas F. and Marie L. (Peepers) Ray. Faye graduated from Big Rapids High School and married Paul Thomas on May 2, 1964. They made their home in Remus where they spent their entire married life. Faye was employed at Ferris State University for over 30 years in dining services, retiring as a manager. She loved sports and attended all her grandchildrens sporting events. She enjoyed the pond her son Lloyd and Paul put in for her. Faye also liked to can, to cook, and to bake cookies for her husband, Paul. Fayes life was all about her large and active family. She loved being in the middle of the action, especially among her adoring grandchildren. Faye was a long-time member of Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church near Mecosta where she had served on several church committees. She is survived by her husband, Paul Thomas; her daughter, Paula (Elvis) Peacock; her son, Lloyd (Melissa) Thomas all of Remus; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon (Art) Vincent and Sandy Sweet all of Big Rapids; numerous nieces and nephews. Faye was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Betty Derby, Shirley Fulkerson, Nancy Myers, Barb Lisco; two brothers, David Ray and Thomas Ray Jr. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church with Pastor Will Hooper officiating.
