Faustino Leone aged 72 of Big Rapids, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. He was born March 11, 1934 in Rocca Pia, Italy to Fiore and Concetta Maria Grazia Leone. In 1955 Faustino was sponsored by his late Uncle Carl and Aunt Jennie to come the United States to study. He attended Wayne State University earning his Masters of Business Education and his Doctorate of Education. Faustino taught for the Avondale School District in Auburn Heights. While there he met Barbara Bystrom of Royal Oak and they were married on December 26, 1960. In 1966 they came to Big Rapids and Faustino began his career at Ferris State University as a professor for the School of Business, retiring after 25 years. His professional affiliations included the American Business Communications Association, Delta Pi Epsilon, Michigan Business Education Association, M.E.A and N.E.A. Faustino was a member of St. Paul's Campus Parish of Big Rapids. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of Big Rapids 2 children: Stephen Leone of Big Rapids and his girlfriend, Mary Quinlan Mary Leone of Atlanta, Georgia 2 sisters: Palma Rosa "Rosina" Leone of Rome Italy Elena (Erasmo) Cabello of Mexico niece, Gabriela Cabello and nephew, Marco Cabello both of Mexico first cousins: Maria Crantas, Reno Leone, Columba Puglia, Josephine DiLullo, Michael Leone, Laureano Leone, Vincenze Letterio, Emidio Leone and their spouses and children. Funeral Mass will take place 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Friday, June 9th at St. Paul's Campus Parish in Big Rapids with Father Wayne B. Wheeler Jr. officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Emblem Cemetery near Chicago, early next week. Memorial contributions in Faustino's name may be given to his family on behalf of his sister, Palma Rosa Leone in Rome, Italy.
