Eva Clara Havens, 86, of Arcadia, Florida and formerly of Mecosta, Michigan passed away June 18, 2014. Eva was born October 28, 1927 in Traverse City, Michigan, to the late Frank and Olivia Ostrander Hawkins. She worked as a county tax assessor for many years. Eva also had approximately 80 acres of farmland in which she and her husband worked cattle. She enjoyed quilting. Eva was of the Methodist faith. Eva is survived by her sons; Ralph (Miriam) Ryerson, of Arcadia, FL, Vern (Janet) Ryerson, of Sparta, MI, daughter, Linda (Bill) Schafer, of Kent City, MI, sister, Freidith, of Reed City, MI, 6 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ray Hawkins and sister, Dorothy Neddo. A graveside service will take place 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Stanwood Cemetery. Arrangements and care entrusted to the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
