Esther L. McGuire age 64 of Grant Center passed away, Friday, February 5, 2010 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born April 6, 1945 in Brinton (Coldwater Twp., Isabella Co.) to Floyd and Pauline (Sowles) Tower. In 1958 the family moved to Remus where Esther graduated from High School. On June 4, 1966 she married Robert L. McGuire in Big Rapids and they made their home and raised their family in Grant Center. Esther and Bob have attended the Pentecostal Church in Cedar Springs for the past 12 years. Esther enjoyed playing several sports when she was younger and liked to crochet. Esther was a loving, patient wife and mother to her husband Robert of Grant Center, four children; Cheryl (Mike) Kondziolka of Big Rapids, Annette (Randall Rehkopf) McGuire of Ashton, Robert and Steve McGuire of Grant Center, five grandchildren of whom she always loved and looked forward to visits from; Mathew Jensen, Christopher and Bradley Rehkopf, Jenna and Cass Kondziolka, great-granddaughter; Makenna, six siblings; Oneita Schlegel, Ila Sieffert, Rosemary Schuchaskie, Charlene Powell, Kathleen Beilfuss, Katherine Moore and Marlin Tower and several nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers; Ronald, Emmett, Gordon, Lyall and Paul.. A private graveside service will take place at Grant Center Cemetery at a later date. Funeral services are entrusted to Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
